What we can and cannot accept

Before visiting our yard, please check your load for any restricted or prohibited items. If in doubt, give us a call – we’re happy to advise.

Items we accept

Scrap cars, vans, motorcycles and End-of-Life Vehicles (ELVs), alloy wheels
Engines, vehicle batteries, catalytic converters, exhausts
Large household appliances – cookers, ovens, washing machines, tumble dryers, dishwashers
Small electricals (WEEE) – like kettles, toasters, and electric toys
Wiring and electrical cables
Ferrous metals – Cuttings, heavy steel offcuts, oversize, shearing, light Iron, No 1 & No 2
Non-ferrous metals – including copper, brass, aluminium, lead, stainless steel, tin, zinc, titanium, bronze, and nickel alloys

Items we don't accept

Refrigeration units – including fridges and freezers
Pressurised containers – such as gas bottles or sealed cylinders
Commercial drinks barrels – including beer kegs and ale casks
Retail trolleys – like supermarket or shopping carts
Milk cages and dairy roll cages

Prohibited Items

Explosive items – including ammunition or shells
Asbestos materials – in any form
Radioactive substances – or containers that may have held them
Chemicals containing PCBs – such as old industrial oils or electrical equipment
Items with CFCs – like older cooling or refrigeration systems

ID requirements for scrap metal dealers

The Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013 (England and Wales) says anyone selling scrap metal be it a vehicle, van, or smaller metal items must present valid photo and address ID at the point of sale.

We accept the following:

Photographic ID with Address

UK photocard driving licence
UK passport with a supporting proof of address
UK biometric immigration document
UK firearm or shotgun certificate

Proof of Address (dated within the last 3 months)

Utility bill (phone, energy)
Bank or building society statement
Council tax demand letter or statement
Credit or debit card statement

Please note that we cannot accept scrap without proper ID, and we’re unable to pay cash - payments are made securely via bank transfer, in line with the law.
